Double Trouble - Join us in San Francisco!
(02:43) The Expanso team will be taking part in two world-leading events - so come down and join us!
Forget the Museum of Modern Art - the coolest things hanging in San Francisco next week will be the Expanso team! We’ll be attending and exhibiting at not one, but two events:
TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200: 28th to 30th October
ODSC West: 29th to 31st October
Hot on the tail of our recent events in Europe, we can’t wait to catch up with our community, customers, and friends on the West Coast. If you’re at either of those events or in the Bay Area next week, drop us a line - we’d love to hear from you and catch up in the real world.
So, who’s gonna be there, and what will we be getting up to at these events?
TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200
Expanso has been chosen to exhibit at TechCrunch Disrupt 2024 as part of Startup Battlefield 200, the world’s preeminent startup competition. We’re incredibly excited to be one of the top startups selected from a review of thousands of applicants to pitch in front of investors and TechCrunch editors. We can’t wait to hit the ground running and share our vision for a distributed future.
When they’re not hacking, David, Laura, and Sean will be at booth K7 in the main expo hall for the duration of the event. We’ve got some great demos lined up to show off the raw power and endless uses for Bacalhau. So, come on over and chat with us to get a peek at what we’ve got in store for the future of distributed computing!
ODSC West
Not ones to sit on our laurels, while the Startup Battlefield is raging on, we’ll also be across town with our friends from 3D Cowboys at ODSC West. Bacalhau is the perfect platform to deploy data science and machine learning workloads with, and we’re looking forward to proving that at ODSC West.
We’re not going to be alone; we’re going to be working with man’s best (robotic) friend: Spot. We’ve been working with 3D Cowboys for a little while now to turn the “Spot” Boston Dynamics robot into a node in a Bacalhau network to show how easy it can be to build and deploy advanced machine learning models to bleeding-edge robotics, thus enhancing Spot’s already impressive capabilities with real-time image inference and telemetry.
With Bacalhau, Spot can now respond to natural gestures and objects and will be roaming the halls with Sean and the 3D Cowboys. So keep an eye out for them, come and say “hello” and spend some time interacting with Spot!
We Can’t Wait to See You!
We’ll be in San Francisco from the 28th - 31st October, and we’ll be attending meetups, events and socials around the city while we’re there. Drop us a note if you’d like to catch up with us and learn more about Bacalhau, our calendars are always open.
Get Involved!
We welcome your involvement in Bacalhau. There are many ways to contribute, and we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out to us at any of the following locations.
Commercial Support
While Bacalhau is open-source software, the Bacalhau binaries go through the security, verification, and signing build process lovingly crafted by Expanso. You can read more about the difference between open-source Bacalhau and commercially supported Bacalhau in our FAQ. If you would like to use our pre-built binaries and receive commercial support, please contact us!
