📣 New in Bacalhau - Highlight
It's time to reset the clocks, ⏰, and let the happy times roll in.
We have just released v0.3.28 🎉. This month's release focuses on S3 bucket support as inputs and outputs for jobs, improvements to the Bacalhau command line flags, insulated jobs, and more.
Let’s take a look at the major highlights for this month:
AWS S3 for data input and output: Bacalhau now supports using data in Amazon AWS S3 buckets as input and output for jobs. This means that all the data you store in S3 can now be accessed easily from Bacalhau, and results can be written back to S3 once your job is complete. Read the docs here.
Amplify persistence and web UI: Amplify data is now persisted so that the current state of workflows survives restarts, making Amplify more able to handle interruptions. It also detects new image or video data and automatically rescales the media into various resolutions and formats – making it easier to work with that data next time. Watch the video here.
Insulated Jobs for private data: With insulated jobs, private data owners moderate access to their data and only allow specific jobs to run against it.
New Bacalhau command line flags: The following commands
--inputs
,--input-urls, -u
and--input-volumes, -v
has been replaced by a single--input, -i
flag that accepts URIs and works for IPFS, URLs, S3, Git, and more inputs in the future.Use of
bacalhau serve for
private nodes:bacalhau serve
default now spins a private node. To connect to the public network, you should now runbacalhau serve --peer env --private-internal-ipfs=false
Log streaming: You can now stream logs from both Docker and WASM jobs whilst the job is still running – a great way to see how your long-running job is progressing.
We have a lot more exciting highlights coming up next month. You can get more details on what the team is working on in our project report
🌊 Waterlily Launch 🎉
We are excited to announce the launch of our ethical AI art generator, Waterlily.ai, which has recently garnered attention from Forbes and Silicon Age. Waterlily is committed to addressing the ethical implications of generative AI. Our platform provides a unique opportunity for artists to submit their artwork and be a part of the Waterlily program.
Artists can now upload a portfolio of their existing work, and Waterlily will automatically train an image generator model using their art. Once trained, the generator is accessible to all Waterlily users, and the artist can start making money from any images that their model produces! It’s a super simple system that is bringing some much-needed control back to the generative art space.
